Built in the 1850s, this classic Charleston Single underwent an extensive restoration in 2025, taking the home from the studs out and installing new systems and utilities from the street in.
The result is a rare combination: the architecture and character of historic Charleston paired with the comfort, functionality, and finishes of a completely renewed home.
And, true to its name, Crystal Palace is filled with chandeliers. Bedrooms, bathrooms, foyers, hallways, the kitchen — we found just about every place we could to add one. They have become a signature of the home and of our Charleston Vacation Palaces brand.

We are a local, family-owned and operated Charleston vacation rental business. Our family has called Charleston home for more than 12 years, and we live here with our three children and dogs. We started our vacation rental journey in 2023 with The Penny Palace and later added The Crystal Palace in 2025. Our properties are supported by experienced property management, and we work hard to give guests a smooth, comfortable experience from booking through checkout. We love Charleston’s history, architecture, restaurants, beaches, and neighborhoods, and we hope our homes give guests a memorable place to experience the city we call home. Crystal Palace gave us the opportunity to take everything we loved about our first Charleston vacation rental and create something completely different. This historic 1850s Charleston Single underwent an extensive restoration in 2025, taking the home from the studs out and replacing the major systems and utilities from the street in. That allowed us to preserve the character of a historic Charleston home while creating a modern, high-end experience designed specifically for larger groups. The “Palace” theme really came to life here. Crystal chandeliers became one of the signatures of the property, and we added them throughout the home — bedrooms, bathrooms, foyers, hallways, the kitchen, and just about anywhere else we could. We also loved the combination of location and functionality: approximately a quarter mile from King Street, spacious gathering areas, classic Charleston porches, six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and an unusually large private parking area for downtown Charleston. Our goal was to create a home that guests would remember long after their Charleston trip was over.Location
